YOUR MISSIONS

 

Are you an enthusiastic and detail-oriented accounting professional looking to make an impact in an international finance team? We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to join our team in Heidelberg.

 

Working closely under the leadership of our Accounting Director, you will handle day-to-day general accounting duties, manage client and vendor accounts, ensure local tax compliance, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting our regional operations across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Romania.

 

Key Responsibilities :

 

1. General Accounting & Day-to-Day Operations

 

  • Handle end-to-end data entry and posting into the SAP FI/CO accounting system (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger).
  • Manage customer and supplier invoices, expense reports, and unallocated payment follow-ups.
  • Process fixed assets accounting, provisions, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Maintain a structured digital filing system and upload supporting documentations into the accounting software.

 

2. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing

 

  • Assist in preparing full sets of accounts, trial balances, and monthly financial statements in compliance with local GAAP (HGB) and corporate reporting standards.
  • Perform year-end inventory and balance sheet adjustments to prepare audit-ready financial files.
  • Support the Accounting Director during internal and external audit processes.

 

3. Tax Compliance & Administration

 

  • Prepare monthly VAT calculations, review VAT postings, and submit tax filings to the tax authorities.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures strictly comply with local German tax regulations and reporting deadlines.
  • Monitor and enforce internal accounting processes, data integrity, and compliance guidelines across your entity scope.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Degree or formal qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (e.g., Bankkaufmann/-frau, Steuerfachangestellte/r, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent BAC+2/BAC+5).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience in general accounting (Accounts Payable/Receivable, GL, VAT).
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO) is required. Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Fluent German (mandatory) and Professional English to thrive in an international corporate environment.
  • Solid understanding of German tax rules (VAT/USt, local reporting requirements).
  • Highly organized, meticulous, and proactive with strong communication skills and an agile, problem-solving mindset
