The Consultant works in partnership with clients, performing analysis, development, support, testing and documentation of HCM software.  With the knowledge of the given software solution, they contribute to the HR Path knowledgebase and support fellow team members and sales initiatives.  More advanced consulting skills and solution knowledge are needed to effectively meet client expectations.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

For a Consultant I to be successful at their job, at a minimum, they will need to:

  • Interact with customers to define requirements
  • Partner with functional team to build development specifications
  • In depth knowledge of implementation methodology and project management concepts
  • Develop, document, and test HCM integrations or add-ons
  • Understands the data models to assist with data loads and migrations from and to other solutions
  • Conducts research on topics within the field of HCM or basic HR processes
  • Develops project documentation, trainings and training material
  • Actively shares knowledge with colleagues

Secondary Functions:

  • Support the introduction of new team members in a project team by contributing own knowledge about project, client or HR Path
  • Plan and deliver upon a limited set of tasks with the appropriate resources
  • Identify issues in the progress of a project and work with project manager to determine alternatives and to recommend accordingly

Requirements:

To successfully accomplish this job, at a minimum, the following job requirements are needed:

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or HR Path employees
  • Skilled in translating technical concepts into functional level usage for clients, both verbally and in written format
  • Bachelor in Science in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of the architecture, functionality and relation to business processes of the HCM software
  • Basic knowledge of two or more of the following programing languages (Java, Groovy, Java Script, Python, Ruby, XSLT, C, C#, C++, Visual Basic)
  • Basic understanding of HR processes, organizational structures and business functions
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and past experiences to carry out and create instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to prepare deliverables in time, meeting expectations or to notify the appropriate person in a timely manner once expectations cannot be met
  • Basic knowledge of standard software products such as spreadsheets, presentation software and text processing software
